ANTRIM

Antrim Floral Art Group was founded in 1978, when founder member Mary Lilly organised the group’s first meeting. Several of the original members remain actively involved today, generously sharing their knowledge and experience with others.

In 1996, a handcrafted brooch depicting a lily was created for the group. This special emblem continues to be worn by the Chairperson.

​

We are a friendly and informal group of 47 members affiliated with NIGFAS. Our aim is to promote and encourage floral art at every level, bringing people together through a shared love of friendship and flowers.

​

Meetings are held from September to June, excluding January. Each year, the Committee works hard to provide a varied and enjoyable programme, including guest speakers, practical workshops, floral demonstrations, quiz nights and an annual outing. Members can also take part in Novice and Open competitions, with prizes awarded throughout the year.

Our popular Christmas workshop provides members with accessories and inspiration for the festive season and is followed by a Christmas supper.

Regular raffles also help us raise funds for a nominated charity each year.

​

We are proud to promote the group within the local community through displays and exhibits at events such as the Antrim Agricultural Show, Home and Garden events and Community Connect, as well as through our Facebook page.

New members, visitors and friends are always warmly welcomed, and we look forward to sharing another exciting programme of floral art, creativity and friendship.
